Description
This quilt is assembled from fabrics that I have painted then sashed together with hand-dyed cotton and finally assembled with a layer of batting and backed with a second layer of fabric. The entire package is then free-motion quilted with my standard old-model Bernina sewing machine. I embellished the surface with appliqués of colorful yo-yos.
The painting techniques I used are two fold. I first created the circles on individual white cotton squares using a hypodermic needle filled with my custom-blended water-color textile paint; squirted, dropped and dribbled. The back ground and sashing is stamped with my custom-blended opaque paint.
It comes with a sleeve and acid-free hanging insert to easily hang on any wall with two small nails.
