Havn Guitars is pleased to offer high-end, hand crafted guitars built to the specifications of the musician. Guitar styles include several models of steel string guitars, electric and lap steel guitars. Each piece of wood used in the building process is chosen specifically to find the balance between bass, mid-range and treble. Special attention is paid to the responsiveness to touch and the clarity of sound of each instrument.

Distilling out of the barn of his childhood home (and former Shaker building) Greg Meeh is distilling exquisite spirits using locally sourced fruits and grains. Greg is no stranger to excellence; he is an award winning set designer in NY so, as such, the distillery is only open on week-ends when he is home. Just 12 minutes from my studio.

Since 1980, David Lamb has had his own shop in Canterbury where he designs and builds furniture on commission. He has won numerous awards and his work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Art and Antiques and the Currier Museum of Art, and also has been New Hampshire’s Artist Laureate from 2010-2014.

Petals in the Pines is a certified outdoor classroom for nature lovers. They host kids parties, schools, garden clubs and private individuals who want to wander thru their lush grounds and learn about gardening and hold workshops. They grow over 250 varieties of flowers and offer flower arrangements by order or in their lovely farm stand. Don’t miss the Monarch butterfly festival each September!

Canterbury Shaker Village, Inc., is an internationally-known non-profit museum founded in 1969 to preserve the heritage of the Canterbury Shakers. Designated as a National Historic Landmark for its architectural integrity and significance, the Village has 25 restored original Shaker buildings, 4 reconstructed Shaker buildings, and 694 acres of forests, fields, gardens, nature trails, and mill ponds under permanent conservation easement.
They are dedicated to preserving the 200-year legacy of the Canterbury Shakers and to providing a place for learning, reflection, and renewal of the human spirit.
Tours, self-guided walk-abouts, workshops and events. Farm stand lunches and, during the semester, lunches and dinners served by the Lakes Region culinary Arts program at The Shaker Table Restaurant.

Kate Goegel has been a craftsperson in Canterbury since 1975. She operates a pottery studio, creates traditional hand-quilted bed quilts and designs/crafts hand-braided wool rugs. Currently her shop, which also includes a selection of folk art, framed prints and note cards, is open June through Columbus Day by chance or appointment.

A disk golf course cut into the woods and hills just down the road from me. They have a full pro-shop as well. I am not a disk golf player but based on the large amount of cars I see there as I drive by this is a real popular place!

Delicious PYO apples and berries on top of the hill with a viewing platform worth the trip. Rustic serve-yourself farm stand with all kinds of fruit/veggies on this working farm. This my favorite place to pick blueberries…a peaceful setting just 5 minutes from my studio.
